PTA Reflections Art Workshop – Thank You

Post date: Oct 07, 2014 9:24:0 PM

The PTA held its first PTA Reflections Visual Arts workshop on Thurs, Oct 2nd with 27 Valley View students across all grade levels. This workshop, which was open to all students, was created to encourage more student participation in the PTA Reflections Art Contest by giving them a dedicated time to focus and a space with art supplies to create a project that they could be proud of and submit.

Thank You

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Debbie Wardrope, a local artist and art instructor, who volunteered her time to host this workshop for us. As an artist, Debbie is obviously a HUGE fan of the arts and wants to instill a passion for the arts in young people. Debbie knew we wanted to drive more students to participate in Reflections this year and with her support, we anticipate tripling the number of submissions from last year.

Thank you to all the parents whose children attended and for taking time to discuss the theme of “The World Would Be a Better Place if...” in preparation for creating the artwork.

Recognizing Student Art & Awards

A reception for all participants and their families will be held on Wed, Oct 15th from 6-7pm in the Valley View Library to recognize the student’s work and announce those winners who will advance to the next level of competition.
