Introducing our 2024-2025 PTA Board Members
Brittany Hassebrock is our President. Brittany is mom to Connor, who is in 5th grade DLI, and Carson, who is in 2nd grade DLI. This is Brittany’s 5th year on the board, and her second year as President. Brittany’s continued goal as the President is to continue to establish and maintain a successful working relationship among Valley View’s parents, students, teachers, and community while supporting school improvement.

Nancy Quach is our Secretary. Nancy is excited for her third year with the PTA. She has a daughter, Sloan, in 5th Grade DLI, and a 5-year-old son, Thomas, in kindergarten. She is looking forward to a great year with an excellent PTA team. She believes Valley View is unique offering of both EO and DLI programs that fosters diversity and inclusivity, and she encourages families of all backgrounds to volunteer and become more involved in the Valley View community.

Jen Berg is our VP of Communication. Jen and her husband, Eric, are parents to four – a freshman at Utah State University, an 8th grader at PVA/PMS, and two at Valley View: Nolan (5th grade EO) and Genevieve (3rd grade DLI). She is a former CPA turned part-time family/event photographer, but mainly just a full-time mom. Jen finds great joy in engaging with children and contributing to our school community.

Kim Hoffstetter is our VP, Fundraising. Kim and her husband Eric are parents to Novalie who is in 3rd Grade EO at Valley View. This is Kim’s first year serving as a board member. She has been a room parent the last 2 years and helped run the Scholastic Book fair in 2024. She loves working with the Valley View Community and loves meeting all the amazing families that are a part of this school. She hopes to help the school community raise the money we need to make sure our students have the best experience possible.

Julia Schan is our Treasurer. Julia has two daughters at Valley View Lydia (5th grade DLI) and Nora (3rd grade DLI). This is her second year as treasure, and she is excited to work with Valley View’s parents and teachers to support our kids and the entire Valley View community.

Samantha Niesen is our Financial Secretary. Sam has 3 kids, 2 still at Valley View. Finn is in 7th at PMS, Declan is 5th grade DLI and Sloane is 1st DLI. I have been Valley View’s PPIE rep for a few years, and was finally convinced that the PTA board is a rewarding and fun experience. (Thanks Amy!) My role mostly encompasses our classroom support funds and other reimbursements. I think the direct classroom support is one of the best things we do as a PTA, so this role fits my interests! I look forward to working with the Valley View community this year!

Brienne Just is our VP of Membership. Brienne is mom to two daughters, Remy, who is 6th Grade at PMS, and Shay, who is in 4th Grade EO at Valley View. This is Brienne’s first year serving as a board member. She hopes to further the connection between DLI and EO families while also encouraging active participation overall at our school.

Carmen Chan is our Historian. Carmen and her husband Phil are parents to 2 DLI students at Valley View, Jacob (4th grade) and Ella (3rd grade). For the past year, she’s been actively volunteering in various PTA events such as multicultural fair and our school’s gala. This year will be her first year serving as a board member. She hopes to help bring more parent engagement to our school and excited serve on the board.

Veronica Behrends is our Elac Rep. Mi nombre es Verónica Behrends. Soy madre de dos niñas: Valeria, quien actualmente cursa cuarto grado en Valley View, y Amy, quien se unirá a la comunidad escolar el próximo año en el nivel de transición. Soy Médico Veterinario, además de ser mamá a tiempo completo así como miembro activa de la comunidad escolar. Me considero una persona dedicada, organizada y siempre dispuesta a colaborar en las actividades y eventos que contribuyan al bienestar y desarrollo de los niños y de toda la familia Valley View.
Creo firmemente en la importancia de la participación familiar dentro del entorno educativo y en el poder transformador que tiene una comunidad unida. Por ello, me involucro con entusiasmo en las iniciativas escolares, buscando siempre aportar de manera positiva y constructiva.
Estoy muy agradecida de formar parte de esta comunidad y entusiasmada por seguir contribuyendo con mi tiempo, conocimientos y dedicación al crecimiento y bienestar de nuestros niños y de todos quienes conformamos Valley View.

Andrea Withers is our school principal. She has served as an administrator at Valley View for three years and is excited to continue her leadership at Valley View for a fourth year. In her PTA role, she seeks to "provide purpose and connection to the school and school community." (pta.org) and to create intentional opportunities to support inclusivity and belonging.
When she is not in her office, she can be found attending school events, meeting with parents, or visiting students in their classrooms or on the playground. After work, she enjoys being outdoors and connecting with her boyfriend, her family, and her cat, Tigre.
