Meet the PTA

Introducing our 2023-2024 PTA Board Members

.Jenn Pranschke is our President. Jenn has a daughter, Isabella going into 7th grade and a son, Noah going into 5th grade, both in the DLI program. Jenn has attended PTA Association meetings since her daughter was in Kindergarten when she also completed the School Smarts program. Jenn took a role on the board in her family’s second year at Valley View (’18-'19) as the school Historian. The following year ('19-'20) on the board she had the role of Vice President of Communication and PPIE Ambassador. Following that year, ('20-'21) she took on the role of President for 2 years, then Vice President for the ('22-’23) school year.  Jenn will continue her role as the President, (‘23-’24) school year.’  Jenn’s continued goal is to establish and maintain a successful working relationship among Valley View’s parents, students, teachers and community while supporting school improvement. Brittany Hassebrock is our Executive Vice President. Brittany is Mom to Connor, who is 3rd grade DLI, and Carson, who is Kinder DLI. She is a 6thgeneration Pleasantonian and her boys are the 3rd generation to attend Valley View! Brittany's goals as the Exec VP are to support our Executive board in any way they need and to continue to inform our community about all of the great things our PTA does for Valley View.

Kristen Hammes Secretary.  Kristen is mom to Madeline, who is in 5th grade DLI.  This is Kristen’s fifth year on the PTA Board, having already served two years each as Treasurer and Financial Secretary.  During the day, Kristen teaches science at Pleasanton Middle.  Kristen’s goal as Secretary is to transcribe all of the fabulous ideas shared during PTA meetings.

Katy Gabbani is our VP of Activities. Katy and her husband, Greg have four children; Harper, 5th grade DLI, Rowan, 2nd grade DLI, Palmer, TK, and Walker (a BOY, finally!) 10 months. This is Katy’s 4th year on the PTA Board. Katy has been a teacher for 14 years and is taking this year off to spend more time with her family and plan fun activities for Valley View’s community. Katy’s goal as the VP of Activities is to plan fun and inclusive activities for our school community.

Anika Briner is our VP of Communication.  Anika is mom to Raleigh (8) who is in 3rd grade English Only, and Paxton (5) who is in Kinder EO. This is Anika’s 3rd year on the board and first year in the Communications role. Anika aims to equip parents and families with the information they need to participate in meaningful ways at Valley View, and to continue building the great sense of community afforded by our amazing students, staff, and parent community.

Jordon Benson is our VP of Fundraising.  Jordon is the mama of Brooklyn in 5th grade. She was born and raised in Pleasanton attending Valley View, Pleasanton Middle and Amador Valley. After a 16year stint in San Diego, she moved back here to raise her daughter in our great town. It is her hope to have the most successful and fantastic last year of our time in Elementary school. Katie Lovewell is our Treasurer.  She has two daughters. Mika is in 3rd grade in the DLI program, and Aria is in 7th at PMS. Katie and her family moved to Pleasanton from Fremont in 2020. Katie was previously auditor as well as Reflections co-chair for Valley View PTA. In her professional career, she began as a 4th grade teacher in Oakland, then switched to working for a medical device company, and then ultimately ended up working as a real estate agent with her mother.

Amy Zysk is our Financial Secretary. Amy has a daughter, Sawyer going into the 3rd grade in the DLI program. She also has a very nice husband, Rob, that she volunteers for all sorts of Valley View events. She has fulfilled various roles on the PTA board and is excited to be the new FiSec. Amy got involved in the PTA because she wanted to understand how the school operated and says what she ended up gaining was an amazing community. Valley View truly have some of the best individuals making elementary school educational and fun.

Chris Allen is our Auditor.  Chris and his wife, Molly, have three children at Valley View; Hillary (5th grade DLI), Michael (3rd grade DLI), and Thomas (1st grade DLI). Chris attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he obtained a BS in Economics. He is the owner of Plant and Pottery Outlet, a garden center and pottery imports store in Sunol. This is Chris’s first year on the PTA and he is looking forward to getting more involved with the school and PUSD.

Sonata Perez is our VP of Membership.  Sonata is dedicated to making Valley View Elementary a safe and equitable space for all of its students and families.  She has led several programs and initiatives for the VVESPTA, most notably 2022-2023 Fundraising, Fun Run, Kindness Month, and Multicultural Fair.  She looks forward to both growing our PTA membership and enhancing our community experience so that all feel welcomed and heard at Valley View.  Have ideas for how to bring our diverse community together?  Reach out to collaborate!

Tammy Quan is our Historian.  I'm a mom to a 4th grader and 6th grader. I am honored to serve as Valley View's PTA Historian preserving a record of our activities and achievements throughout the school year.

Tracey McLean is our Parliamentarian. Her son Grant Ford is a 4th grader. Her son Clark Ford finished at VV last year and is in 6th grade at PMS. Both are in DLI. Tracey was the Parliamentarian for two years and the VP of Membership for a year before taking a break from the board last year. She is a practicing physician and works in technology leadership. Winter Curtiss is our Teacher Rep.  This will be her second year teaching Third Grade Dual Immersion. She is a step-mother to Isabella (10) in fifth grade and Alejandro (13) in 8th grade. This is Winter’s first year as the teacher representative and she plans to work helping communicate between the PTA and teachers making sure that everyone’s ideas are communicated and that teachers stay updated with all PTA activities and notifications.

Nancy Quach is our Elac Rep. She has a daughter Sloan in 3rd Grade DLI, and a 3 year old son Thomas at home. This is her first year in the PTA and she is looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of our wonderful PTA team. Valley View is unique in that it offers both EO and DLI programs, which promotes diversity and inclusivity. Her goal this year is to support families of all backgrounds as well as assist families that need translation from English to Spanish.
