Meet the PTA

Introducing our 2024-2025 PTA Board Members

Brittany Hassebrock is our President. Brittany is mom to Connor (9), who is 4th grade DLI, and Carson (7), who is 1st DLI. She is a 6thgeneration Pleasantonian and her boys are the 3rd generation to attend Valley View! This is Brittany’s 4th year on the board, and first year as President. Brittany’s goal as the President is to continue to establish and maintain a successful working relationship among Valley View’s parents, students, teachers and community while supporting school improvement.

Nancy Quach is our Secretary.  She has a daughter Sloan in 4th Grade DLI, and a 4 year old son Thomas starting TK at Valley View. This is her 2nd year in the PTA and she is looking forward to working with our wonderful PTA team. Valley View is unique in that it offers both EO and DLI programs, which promotes diversity and inclusivity. She would love to encourage families of all backgrounds to volunteer and become more involved in the Valley View Community.

Jen Berg is our VP of Communication.  Jen and her husband, Eric, are parents to four – a senior at Amador (!), a 7th grader at PVA/PMS, and two at Valley View: Nolan (4th grade EO) and Genevieve (2nd grade DLI).  She is a former CPA turned part-time family/event photographer, but mainly just a full-time mom. Jen finds great joy in engaging with children and contributing to our school community.

Julia Schan is our Treasurer. Julia has two daughters at Valley View Lydia (4th grade DLI) and Nora (2nd grade DLI).  This is her first year on the board, and she is excited to work with Valley View’s parents and teachers to support our kids and the entire Valley View community.

Amy Zysk is our Financial Secretary. Amy has a daughter, Sawyer going into the 4th grade in the DLI program. She also has a very nice husband, Rob, that she volunteers for all sorts of Valley View events. She has fulfilled various roles on the PTA board and is excited to continue in the role of FiSec. Amy got involved in the PTA because she wanted to understand how the school operated and says what she ended up gaining was an amazing community. Valley View truly have some of the best individuals making elementary school educational and fun.

Chris Allen is our Auditor.  Chris and his wife, Molly, have two children at Valley View; Michael (4th grade DLI), and Thomas (2nd grade DLI). Their oldest child, Hillary, completed the DLI program at Valley View and is in 6th grade at Pleasanton Middle School. Chris attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he obtained a BS in Economics. He is the owner of Plant and Pottery Outlet, a garden center and pottery imports store in Sunol. This is Chris’s second year on the PTA and he has really enjoyed being involved with the school and PUSD.

Sonata Perez is our VP of Membership.  Sonata is dedicated to making Valley View Elementary a safe and equitable space for all of its students and families.  She has led several programs and initiatives for the VVESPTA, most notably 2022-2023 Fundraising, Fun Run, Kindness Month, and Multicultural Fair.  She looks forward to both growing our PTA membership and enhancing our community experience so that all feel welcomed and heard at Valley View.  Have ideas for how to bring our diverse community together?  Reach out to collaborate!

Carmen Chan is our Historian. Carmen and her husband Phil are parents to 2 DLI students at Valley View, Jacob (4th grade) and Ella (3rd grade). For the past year, she’s been actively volunteering in various PTA events such as multicultural fair and our school’s gala.  This year will be her first year serving as a board member.  She hopes to help bring more parent engagement to our school and excited serve on the board.

Tracey McLean is our Parliamentarian. Her son Grant is a 5th grader. Her son Clark graduated from VV and is in 7th grade at PMS. Both are in DLI. Tracey has been on the Board for 4 years. She is a practicing physician and works in technology leadership. Her favorite thing to do is go on adventures with her family.

Winter Curtiss is our Teacher Rep.  This will be her third year teaching Dual Immersion, first year in Fifth Grade, last two years in third grade. She is a step-mother to Isabella (11) in sixth grade and Alejandro (14) in 9th grade. This is Winter’s second year as the teacher representative and she plans to work helping communicate between the PTA and teachers making sure that everyone’s ideas are communicated and that teachers stay updated with all PTA activities and notifications.

Andrea Withers is our school principal.  She has served as an administrator at Valley View for three years and is excited to continue her leadership at Valley View for a fourth year.  In her PTA role, she seeks to "provide purpose and connection to the school and school community." (pta.org) and to create intentional opportunities to support inclusivity and belonging.  


When she is not in her office, she can be found attending school events, meeting with parents, or visiting students in their classrooms or on the playground.  After work, she enjoys being outdoors and connecting with her boyfriend, her family, and her cat, Tigre.
