STAR Testing Information

Post date: Apr 24, 2013 11:10:58 PM

Dear Valley View Families,

California’s Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program will take place at Valley View on April 30 – May 10 for grades 2, 3, 4, and 5. Our students have shown positive results over the years on the state’s academic performance (API) ranking to achieve a score of 898 in 2012. California’s goal for all schools is 800. This has been the source of great pride for the entire school community. We hope to surpass last year’s benchmark and count on your support in helping us meet this challenge.

Parents can help their students prepare for STAR testing by stressing the importance of a positive attitude toward test taking and by encouraging them to do their best on all the tests. We also ask that parents ensure that students attend school everyday, arrive on time, get a good night’s sleep, and eat a nutritious breakfast daily.

The staff at Valley View thanks you in advance for your support during STAR testing and throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you might have about STAR testing activities.

Sincerely,

Rafael Cruz

Principal
