Pleasanton Elementary Poetry Contest

Express your creative talent and possibly have your poetry displayed!

The City of Pleasanton's Teen Poet Laureates invite Pleasanton's elementary school students, grades 1-5, to take part in the first district-wide Elementary School Poetry Contest. Submissions will be judged and winners selected by the Teen Poet Laureates; each participant will receive a certificate, and one 1st place winner from each school will receive a special prize and have their work displayed in the library. First place winners will be invited to an awards reception at the Firehouse Arts Center on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

Students may submit their poem by e-mail to pleasantonteenpoets@gmail.com, or turn in their poem at the front desk of their school office in the plastic envelope marked "Pleasanton Elementary Poetry Contest." Submissions are due by 4:00 on Friday, March 6. Be sure to include student's name, email, school, grade, and teacher's name on the document. This information must be included in order to qualify. Poems will not be returned, so parents, please submit copies if you wish to retain the original!
