Valley View School is looking for volunteers who are willing to work with kindergarten, first, and second grade students who need extra support in reading. We are using a program called Sound Partners, which is a unique phonics-based reading program utilizing volunteers to provide crucial 1:1 tutoring for our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students who struggle in reading. Our goal is to get all students to read fluently and effectively. All materials and training are provided. The program is scripted and all of the prep work is done for you. You can commit to a single session per week or for several sessions depending on your schedule and interest.

The two-hour training will be with Heidi Burton, our District Intervention Coach. For more information you may contact her at hburton@pleasantonusd.net.

Several Valley View parents have completed the training, and some have already begun working with students! They have all said the training is painless, and the program is fun to use.
