The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is currently looking for their new board members for next year. They have a few open positions for next year and would love to hear from anyone interested in serving in any capacity.

The PTA is a wonderful organization that helps with many aspects of the school - such as planning fun activities for our students and their families (Hootenanny, MultiCultural Fair, Bingo night, etc), fundraising money for much needed projects, and most importantly deciding how that money will be spent.

If you would like to have a voice in the board, and help shape the future of any school event, fundraising event, or have a say on how funds are spent, this is the opportunity to step up and volunteer.

Here are the positions that are available:

VP of Activities: Susane Head has stepped up to be our VP and is looking for dynamic parents to help her chair the following events:
  • Hootenanny
  • Family Night
  • Talent Show
  • Multicultural Fair
VP of Fundraising: Oversees the different fundraising activities and helps generate much needed funds for the school. Among the events done in the past are:
  • Fun Run (Katlyn Haus and Sally Richards will help)
  • Book Fair
  • Schoola Used Clothing Drive
  • Parent Night Out
VP of Communications: This position was previously held by Monica Helms. This board member is in charge of  all the bulletin boards in the school, the Mustang, the FB page and the PTA Website.  Monica will stay on as a HUGE helper, but cannot attend the meetings.

Financial Secretary: is responsible for documenting and classifying the Payments and Deposits of the PTA as well as tracking the balances and budgets of the various projects put on by the PTA. Organization and availability are the two critical traits of this position.

Please email Lennis Sadler at if you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, either as a Vice President or as a chairperson for any of the activities listed above. For any of the positions, you will not be reinventing the wheel. Previous VPs and event chairs are always willing to help and each event has been carefully documented.

Please consider helping out our school and our children. Thank you in advance for your help!
